Adult Drug Court Research to Practice Initiative
The National Center for State Courts has teamed with American University for an Adult Drug Court Research to Practice (R2P) Initiative to promote the timely dissemination of information emerging from research on addiction science, substance abuse treatment, and adult drug court programs. With funding from BJA and the National Institute of Justice, the R2P Initiative will produce a series of webinars, webcasts, and other work products that disseminate important research to practitioners and policymakers.

Innovative Programming for Veterans in the Criminal Justice System

Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (ODMAP) Statewide Expansion and Response

BJA is sponsoring this opportunity in coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This initiative is designed to support statewide adoption of ODMAP as well as the development of highly coordinated public safety, behavioral health, and public health responses to the data, focusing on “hot spots” and trends of concern. On May 30, 2019, at 11 a.m. ET, learn about the Partnerships to Support Data-driven Responses to Emerging Drug Threats funding opportunity and application process during an informational webinar.



Partnerships to Support Data-driven Responses to Emerging Drug Threats

This initiative is designed to demonstrate how local public health, behavioral health, and public safety agencies can collaboratively leverage their distinct and complementary roles and capabilities to collect, share, and analyze near real-time data to support coordinated cross-sector responses to reduce overdose deaths. Under this solicitation, up to six communities will be selected for grant awards up to $600,000, each for a 24-month period. Apply by: June 27, 2019.

A voluntary, faith-based prisoner reentry program that attempts to prepare inmates for reintegration into the community, employment, family, and other significant relationships through educational, values-based programming.

Too Good for Drugs—Middle School
A school-based drug prevention program designed to reduce students’ intention to use alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs, while promoting prosocial attitudes, skills, and behaviors.

Teenage Health Teaching Modules
A comprehensive school health curriculum for grades 6 to 12. By addressing various health issues, the curriculum aims to positively affect student health knowledge, attitudes, practices, and behaviors.
