The mission of BJA is to provide policy leadership and assistance that supports criminal justice systems in the effort to achieve safer communities. Established in 2008, the BJA National Training and Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC) promotes that mission by serving as a major source of justice-related training and technical assistance (TTA) information and resources to improve criminal justice systems nationwide. BJA NTTAC offers specialized assistance to the criminal justice field by providing state, local, and tribal communities with rapid, expert, coordinated, and data-driven training and technical assistance.

One of the features of the BJA NTTAC site is the automated TTA request application, which allows you to easily request assistance online. In order to address the unique needs of each requestor, the TTA services provided through BJA NTTAC cover a broad set of topic areas including adjudication, corrections, community corrections, counter-terrorism, crime prevention, justice information sharing, law enforcement, mental health, pretrial, reentry, and substance abuse. Across these topic areas, NTTAC supports TTA at various levels of time and resource-intensiveness including:

  • Assistance implementing evidence-based programs
  • Assistance with strategic planning
  • Curriculum development
  • Customized TA from subject matter experts
  • Data analysis
  • Facilitation of advisory group meetings
  • Fostering relationships with research partners
  • Onsite and distance learning training
  • Peer-to-peer visits
  • Research and information requests

Be sure to come back regularly for news, resources, and information on NTTAC, BJA training, and the criminal justice field. In addition to these enhanced resources, NTTAC has launched its official blog, TTA Today, which share regular highlights on our TTA providers as well as success stories from the field. It is our hope that these resources will make it easier to promote public safety and strengthen the criminal justice system nationwide.

One goal of BJA NTTAC is to provide the resources and tools necessary to foster collaboration and ensure that criminal justice professionals are better able serve their communities. In order to ensure that we achieve this goal, we would like your thoughts on the new web site content, functionality, and layout. We invite you to take a few minutes to complete the feedback form.
